Fine dining destinations highlight seasonal flavors

ATLANTA, GA – November 17, 2016 – This fall, The Café and Lobby Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead will introduce menu items and cocktails inspired by the bountiful season. The innovative new dishes will incorporate the essence of autumn while updated cocktail selections reflect a tribute to local flair and southern inspiration.

“Autumn is a special time of year that allows us to utilize the most exquisite fresh ingredients in The Café and Lobby Lounge,” said chef Michelle Wick. “This year, I’m especially delighted to introduce an interesting twist on the smoked chicken, which will be available to guests dining in either location.”

In The Café, seasonal starters will include butternut squash soup with fresh-grated parmesan, a slow poached egg, and hints of bacon; pear salad with honey lavender bites, crunchy pecan brittle, mixed greens and sherry vinaigrette; and tuna crudo with crispy rice noodles, citrus gel, black sriracha, pickled radish and ponzu sauce.

In addition to the smoked chicken, which will now be served with red rice, chorizo, carrot mousse, kale, fennel, and a zesty bravas sauce, chef Wick has developed an array of interesting entrées to supplement the menu in The Café. Selections include several house-made pasta dishes that reflect authentic Italian influences, featuring campanelle with tender, savory short rib, porcini cream sauce, goat cheese and chives; and tagliatelle Nero, with snow crab, salmon caviar and lemon ricotta. To complement the dishes, The Café also offers hand-crafted sodas in a variety of seasonal flavors, including spiced apple, cranberry and citrus thyme.

The elegant Lobby Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead will also debut several new dishes and cocktails to accentuate the tastes of the season. Recent additions to the all-day menu include mushroom risotto with wild mushrooms, truffle and parmesan cheese and a reimagined charcuterie and cheese board, featuring bresaola, prosciutto, mortadella and country sausage, Thomasville tomme and drunken goat cheese.

Guests of the Lobby Lounge will especially enjoy The Legend, a cocktail created from ingredients exclusive to The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead. Beginning with a house-infused bourbon limoncello, the beverage blends the flavors of the south with those of the traditional Italian aperitif. The drink is finished with honey syrup harvested from the apiary located atop the roof of The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead and a squeeze of fresh lemon, making it a beverage that guests can truly find no place else.

Other noteworthy cocktails include the Song of the South, which also draws from traditional southern influences and blends house-infused smoked pecan bourbon, 1821 Bitters blood orange & ginger shrub, fresh sour and sweet tea. To warm guests from the inside out as the colder months draw near, mulled cider and mulled wine will be available throughout November and December, respectively.
