The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore showcases tantalizing Thai flavors with a visiting chef from Krabi
BANGALORE, August 26, 2016: Tantalizing flavors of Thai cuisine will descend upon Bangalore this September, with visiting Chef K Aong from Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, our luxury resort in Krabi, Thailand.
The Market, at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore will host Flavors of Thailand, a food festival showcasing the best of Thai cuisine, both during lunch as well as dinner. Chef K Aong has been showcasing Thai cuisine at the fine dining restaurant Sri Trang, at Phulay Bay using traditional Thai cooking methods in an elegant, modern and minimalist setting. She has travelled to several hotels to hold Thai food promotions, more recently, The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing and has honed her culinary skills over the last 15 years in the kitchen. While her culinary inspiration is her mother, Chef K Aong does try and stick with her original recipes to retain the authenticity of her dishes. She enjoys conducting cooking classes for guests at the resort, where she feels she can share her tips and secrets with resident guests.
Thai cuisine is known for its juxtaposition of varying flavors ranging from sweet, sour, savory, and spicy with fresh ingredients and garden herbs at the heart of every dish. Having evolved as a much-loved world cuisine, Thai cuisine is popular for its complex flavors brought about by the deft usage of these special ingredients and the practiced hand of the chef-in-charge.
Some specialties at Flavors of Thailand that can be expected are –
Yum wun sen moo - a popular glass noodle salad
Lab gai - another well-loved salad with minced chicken, fragrant with kaffir lime and mint.
Som Tam - with raw papaya and crushed peanuts
Phad hed ruam - with shitake , oyster and other local mushrooms
Goong phad preaw waan - with prawns, cucumber, pineapple, tomatoes
Having successfully hosted several different Culinary Festivals like Singaporean and Italian, The Market will come alive with the purposeful bustle of activity and the emanating flavours of Thai culinary craftsmanship to delight the palates of its global gourmands. The design element of the restaurant with its three interactive show kitchens, open ovens, sushi bar and an indulgent dessert studio present the perfect backdrop for the live-action element that Thai food is well-known for.
The Market will showcase a glorious celebration of Thai Cuisine from the 19th to 25th September, 2016 with visiting Chef K Aong, a food festival that will feature accents from Thai cuisine finishing with a Sunday Brunch on the 25th.
