Spreading the joy of giving, fulfilling wishes and lighting up the Christmas Tree
BANGALORE, November, 2017: The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is the official commencement of the holiday season. And every year the spirit of the season arrives at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore in all its splendour, a tad early.
The hotel lobby and public areas are currently ringing with the true joy of the season with festive trimmings glittering all around. Familiar holly with Christmas baubles, bells, stars, poinsettias and all things Christmassy are lining the ceilings, pillars and corners …all done in the customary elegant Ritz-Carlton style. The glint of delicate gold and glitter and dainty splashes of reds are now adding a special touch to every nook and corner of the beautifully done up spaces, lending themselves exquisitely in the celebratory, yuletide manner.
In a traditionally colorful evening of joy and excitement, the hotel marks the authenticity of Christmas with the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on the evening of 22nd November 2017 with notable guests of the city partaking in the festivities. The lobby ringing with peals of delightful Christmas carols and a giant 3 Dimensional Gingerbread House, marks a whole different dimension to the festivities.
In the true spirit of giving, which is really the cornerstone of Christmas celebrations, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore has partnered with Make A Wish , a Community Footprint partner NGO, that is tirelessly working towards helping children tide over critical illnesses.
The hotel has invited about 25 children from Make A Wish Foundation with life-threatening medical conditions. A small party with tea and goodies, Santa Claus making a delightful appearance and the hotel’s team of ladies and gentlemen regaling the little guests will be a precursor to the celebrations.
Their individual wishes get hung up on a tree awaiting generous donors that help in fulfilling them.
This precedes the actual event with guests arriving in later.
Those wishes hanging from the trees have the chance of coming to fruition and, like every year, guests donate generously in buying gingerbread bricks (costing INR 1000, 2000 and 3000) which, after having their names piped on them, are showcased on the Giant Gingerbread House. The proceeds all go to charity (Make A Wish)
(Make A Wish is an NGO that grants wishes of deserving children in 50 countries across the globe, with the help of scores of volunteers and generous donors. It is believed that a wish come true empowers children with life-threatening medical conditions to fight harder against their illnesses. )
