Jakarta, 10 July 2017 – YBL is Back! For the third year in a row The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place delightfully welcomes back Yann Bernard Lejard, artistic culinary expert and the award-winning chef from The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain. The tea-inspired Dinner will be held on 26 July at Pacific Restaurant & Lounge and in affiliation with Art Jakarta 2017, YBL will continue to host a Pop-Up Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom from 27-30 July.

Modern, sophisticated, artistic, evolving, and inspired. Those are 5 words to describe Chef Yann’s culinary philosophy. With his aim to develop the culinary trends and impact the world, this year Yann embraces some of Indonesian product and incorporate it into traditional French cuisine through an inspirational dinner.

Coloring the tea inspired gastronomy is Dilmah’s Silver Jubilee Gourmet, a range of sophisticated teas. Dilmah tea had made a mark with its fresh, single origin, 100% pure Ceylon tea. However, Dilmah needed to produce something spectacular to celebrate 25 years infused in the goodness of Dilmah tea. To explore its diverse varieties whilst remaining true to its origins, and giving this 5000 year old herb a touch of the 21st century whilst embracing the time of its ancestors. Revel in the flavours of Almond infused Ceylon Pekoe, Earl Grey, Ceylon tea with strawberry, Ceylon Ginger Honey and Mint and Mandarin and Marzipan Pekoe in a full artsy Tea-inspired gastronomic five-course dinner at the Pacific Restaurant on the evening of July 26th with price starts from Rp. 850,000++ per person inclusive of tea pairings.

Pop-up Restaurant:
The concept of Unity in Diversity is brought to life by translating British Artist of Balinese decent, Sinta Tantra’s geometric elements into spatial aesthetics through the unique placement of furniture in the area. Chef Yann incorporates popping colors into his plating, creating a unique ala carte menu with varying selections of entrées, main courses, and desserts, adding a French twist to classic Indonesian cuisines in a pop-up restaurant called “Taste”. Together they will deliver an exquisite combination in which artwork and culinary art is merged visually on July 27th to July 30th at The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom, level 4.

Born in Paris and holding a degree in cooking since the age of 16, his culinary experiences includes working for several Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe has led him to prestigious awards that include MARRIOT CORPORATE AWARD for CULINARY EXCELLENCE Rising Star Middle East and FOOD AND TRAVEL ARABIA Breakthrough CHEF OF THE YEAR 2015.
