Jakarta, March 2017 – In commemoration with the global Earth Hour movement, The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan once again conveys the message via art in their activity titled EARTH ‘ART’ HOUR.  Four young and aspiring local artists will partake in this 60-minute creative collaboration of art and world preservation in the “Live painting in the dark” performance, as they embrace culture, talents and environmental care. In addition, during the Earth ‘ART’ Hour celebration that will take place on Saturday, 25 March 2017, from 8.30 PM – 9.30 PM, the hotel lobby will be lit with candles and decorated with several artworks from Spanish photographer, Pepe Arcos.

On this day, The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan will be incorporating The Ritz-Carlton Community Footprints Program, joining the millions of supporters across the globe by switching off the lights for a full 60 minutes. The theme of EARTH ‘ART’ HOUR was chosen as the reflection of an edutainment campaign for the hotel’s guests as well as the general public as the hotel showcases their aim and support in embracing the nation’s artistry during the event. As the light switches off and the candles lit, the four artists will be performing their artistic talents during the hour.

EARTH ‘ART’ HOUR was first introduced in 2014, whereby no less than six (6) young and aspiring local artists partook in this activity. This year, the four (4) participating artists are; Tania Hazrriandiba, Kania Yuliandini, Dikdik Ardiwinangoen, Dadan Matdani, who will each portray historical approaches in art encompassing Indonesia’s society and environments as well as The Ritz-Carlton logo which will be presented through the individualism of the artists’ interpretations. The finish artworks will be displayed in the hotel lobby for a month and available for sale.
