KYOTO – March 15, 2016 – This spring through fall, Valentino Palmisano, Chef de Cuisine at La Locanda at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto, is inviting acclaimed chefs from around the world for a series of events called “A Tavola con Valentino – Chef Valentino’s table.” Celebrating various cuisines and showcasing culinary masters, this collaboration of chefs will result in memorable, exquisite dishes for guest to enjoy.

In this new event series, Chef Valentino and three of his closest colleagues in the culinary world will work to create works of gastronomic art to share with guests at La Locanda. After working as an executive chef at Castello del Nero, Amore Italian Restaurant, and Sabatini Ristorante Italiano, Valentino Palmisano became Chef de Cuisine at La Locanda at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto when the resort opened in February 2014. His specialty is creating innovative and memorable dishes based on traditional Italian cuisine with a detailed and meticulous preparation that enhances the delicate, original flavors of the finest ingredients. With a strong attention to detail, Chef Valentino has also become known for his unique presentations, including elegant table settings and plating.

The first “Chef Valentino’s Table” Event will be held Thursday, March 24 – Saturday, March 26. Guest chef: Riccardo La Perna, Executive Chef at 8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA Shanghai will present two lunches, two dinners and gala dinner during his first visit to Japan.

A 6,500 yen (three courses & dessert)

The second “Chef Valentino’s Table” Event will take place from Thursday, July 21 – Saturday, July 23 and feature guest chef, Massimo Bottura of Osteria Francescana. Charismatic chef Massimo Bottura is a leader in modern Italian cuisine and has received numerous awards, including the number 2 position in the ranking of “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” as well as three Michelin stars. He is the owner and chef of Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy, which is famous for its fine cuisine – and the difficulty of getting a reservation – and will visit Kyoto for the first time.

Lunch: 25,000 yen
Dinner: 35,000 yen

Gala Dinner July 23: 35,000 yen

The third and final “Chef Valentino’s Table” Event will take place from Thursday, November 24 – Saturday, November 26 and feature guest chef, Domenico Iavarone from restaurant Maxi. Acclaimed executive chef Domenico Iavarone of the Michelin-starred restaurant Maxi, which overlooks the Bay of Naples Vico Equense Sorrento coast, will round out the guest chef series. Iavarone is known for embracing his affection for the land of Italy and for Italian culture through his cooking.
