The prestigious Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto has been named the #1 hotel in Japan and 300,000 travelers can’t be wrong. Condé Nast Traveler announced the results of the 2017 Readers’ Choice Awards naming The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto as the best hotel in Japan.
The stunning resort, the only one from Japan, was also ranked amongst the 50 best hotels in the world. With breathtaking views of the city, Zen gardens or the Higashiyama Mountains, plus a beautiful riverside location, it’s no wonder this luxurious resort has received such well-deserved recognition.
Over 300,000 readers participated in the poll, rating, commenting on and sharing their recent travel experiences of the world's cities, islands, hotels, resorts, cruise lines, airlines and airports.
The Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards are the longest running and most exclusive recognition of excellence in the travel industry. The awards have grown to become more selective and specific to the passions that inspire today’s travellers.
The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto, set along the shores of the Kamogawa River, was ranked #1 as the top hotel in Japan with a rating of 97.86 per cent. Kyoto was also named the #3 best city in the world as one of the most well-preserved cities in Japan sitting behind Tokyo being named #1.
The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto General Manager Mark Neukomm said being named as the #1 hotel in Japan and amongst the top 50 in the world, as voted by these discerning travelers, was a great achievement for the resort.

Getting to The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto has never been easier with QANTAS announcing year-round flights between Sydney and Osaka’s Kansai Airport from 14 December 2017.
