The Ritz Carlton, Okinawa today announced that it will open The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA on May 28th 2012, as part of the grand opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Okinawa, the luxury hotel operator’s first resort in Japan.
The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA features ESPA’s products that combine natural essential oils and marine elements. Set in its own Spa building next to the hotel, the spa is located within the premises of the Kise Country Club overlooking the East China Sea. Bordered by the Yambaru forest, where primitive trees have remained untouched by time and serve as the habitat of some of the rarest flora and fauna in the world, the spa is a haven of relaxation in a natural paradise.
Inspired by the spectacular scenery surroundings of The Ritz Carlton, Okinawa, the luxurious spa has been designed to be at harmony with the surrounding deep forest, so that the guests can feel the power of nature. The Spa reception features the use of organic materials in all design points, and the deep forest motif is particularly evident where a display of light creates textural and moving shadows as if under the forest canopy. Views to the Yambaru Forest can be enjoyed from most of the public areas and treatment rooms.
The spa is a stand-alone, two-level building. A beautiful garden walkway connects the first floor of the hotel foyer to the spa and an alternative paved pathway will connect the hotel entrance and spa, for buggy users and courtesy cars.
The Spa features ten treatment rooms - eight standard plus two private suites as well as outdoor cabanas where Shiatsu-style massages can be offered. There is a nail studio, private relaxation rooms, heated indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, dry sauna, a stone sauna made of weathered coral tiles, and 24-hour fitness gym with latest Technogym equipment so guests can experience graceful and luxurious moments throughout their Spa journey.
A private entrance leads to the VIP wing which houses the Ocean and Forest Suites. Each suite has its own independent stone soaking bath overlooking the surrounding forest. The Ocean suite also features a private living room and outdoor terrace while the Forest suite provides guests with a steam shower experience overlooking the forest as well as an outdoor terrace so guests can enjoy a luxurious private atmosphere during their spa visit.
The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA will offer guests the ultimate spa journey with a luxurious yet tranquil atmosphere that harmonizes with the beautiful surrounding Okinawan nature.
