OSAKA, 16  September, 2016 - In June 2016, Conrado Tromp took up the position of Executive Chef at the Ritz-Carlton, Osaka, overseeing the hotel's six restaurants and bars, and the all the wedding and banquet catering within the hotel.

Originally from the Netherlands, Tromp has worked in luxury hotels and top restaurants around the world including, Switzerland, France, The United Kingdom, Germany, The Maldives, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and other countries. He also has experience and worked with Michelin Star Chef.

Tromp began his career with the Ritz-Carlton as executive chef of the then-newly opened The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu in 2012. Under his leadership, the hotel's restaurants were ranked some of the best in the city. Chinese Restaurant Li Xuan was ranked the top Chinese restaurant in all China in 2015 by Lifestyle Magazine and the China Restaurant Awards. Tromp, himself, was selected as Chef of the Year in 2014 for Ritz-Carton hotels in the Asia-Pacific Region.

"Japan has a high aesthetic sense within its cuisine, so I want to serve everyone Italian, French, Chinese and, of course, Japanese cooking that is better than anything they’ve tasted," Tromp says raising expectations about his first Japanese appointment at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka. His strengths lie in light Mediterranean cuisine, and he has an avid interest in discovering the potential of new ingredients and cooking.
