A visit behind the “Grand Fight” – Sumo wrestlers’ morning training tour
Available based on Sumo competition calendar

Join us as we go behind the ring of Sumo, the famous competitive full-contact wrestling sport of Japan. Guided by our Experience Curator, the tour will take you up-close and personal with the Rekishis (Sumo wrestlers) while they carry their morning trainings, warming up for the national Sumo competitions in Tokyo organized only 3 times in a year.

After the tour, guests will be invited to sample “Chanko Nabe” breakfast, a special hot pot dish feast upon by professional Sumo wrestlers and professional wrestlers in Japan.

*Tour is available based on Sumo competition calendar

Did you know that Sumo is originated in ancient times and was a performance dedicated to entertain the Shinto deities? Many rituals with religious background, such as the symbolic purification of the ring with salt, are still followed today. In line with tradition, only men practice the sport professionally in Japan.

*All activities are exclusively crafted only for guests staying at The Ritz‐Carlton, Tokyo.
