TOKYO, Japan – November 29, 2016 – The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo is proud to announce that Azure 45 Restaurant has secured one-star Michelin for two consecutive years of 2016 and 2017.

Declared during the award ceremony of Michelin Guide Tokyo 2017 held on November 29, 2016, the award confirms Azure 45’s position to be one of the finest French restaurants in Tokyo, helmed by award-winning Chef, Shintaro Miyazaki.

Chef Shintaro Miyazaki has gained his popularity in Japan after leading the culinary team of Au Gôut du Jour restaurant in Tokyo, where he successfully maintained the restaurant’s Michelin star ranking for 7 consecutive years. Graduated from a reputable cooking school in Japan and several apprentices in France, Chef Miyazaki has brought 1 Michelin star to the team of Azure 45 restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo in 2015 and received 1 star for the second time this year.

Azure 45 is an upscale and creative fine-dining venue offering contemporary French cuisine. Its name “Azure” comes from the view of the beautiful skyline and the Tokyo Bay from the window of the restaurant. Among the distinctive ingredients used for the creative dishes by Miyazaki here include fresh catch from the Hagi market of Yamaguchi and Hokkaido prefectures, the notable “Veau sous la Mère ”, the suckling veal and Bazas beef selected by Francois Pallavidino and the exclusive Kintoa pork by Pierre Oteiza, which has recently been recognised as A.O.C ( Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée ).
