Miami, Fl. – December 3, 2016 – The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach brings the glitz and glamour of old Havana alive for its annual New Year’s Eve gala “Azucar!” this holiday season. Taking place on Saturday, December 31, from 6 p.m.-1 a.m., guests are invited to ring in 2017 in true Latin style with an indulgent four-course dinner and poolside extravaganza in the heart of Miami’s famed Art Deco district.
Transporting guests to an era of cabaret and haute living known as the “Havana High Life,” the evening kicks off with an indulgent Latin-infused and sommelier wine-paired menu at Bistro One LR with dinner seating at 6 and 8 p.m. Starting at 9 p.m., the open bar will feature handcrafted libations, flutes of sparkling wine and signature rum Mojitos, shaken and stirred to order with fresh tropical fruit at the poolside Starr Barr lounge. Premium cigar maker Gurkha will enliven the spirit of old Havana with hand cut and rolled cigars for guests to enjoy in the ultimate private lounge setting throughout the night. Sultry rhythms of a 10-piece Latin Orchestra band and salsa performances entertain guests under the stars, followed by the New Year’s Eve countdown and champagne toast led by Miami nightlife entertainer DJ Malone at midnight.

For those families celebrating at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach, young ladies and gentlemen can count down to 2017 at a special Ritz Kids New Year’s Eve celebration from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. The price is $95* per child, and includes a buffet dinner alongside a host of activities like arts and crafts, movies, and face painting.

Starters include choices of Cream of Asparagus Cappuccino, Heirloom Tomato with Cherokee Tartar, and Scallop Crudo and Merengue Grapes. For main dish selections, choose from Cobia “a la Plancha”, Truffle Cannelloni and Coffee Rubbed Beef Tenderloin Cuban style. Dessert options include Mojito Crème Brulee and Cortadito Cuban Coffee Chocolate Cake topped with Dulcey Chocolate Ice Cream and Baileys Crème.
