The hotel’s culinary department is composed of a passionate team of professionals, who take the island’s innovative food offerings and the Al Khayma Ramadan experience to a whole new level every year. This year, the exquisite Ramadan buffet takes the guests on a gastronomic journey around the world, with an extensive selection of juicy dates, Tagines, Majboos, roasted lamb, succulent mixed grills, saffron rice and falafel rolls. The hotel has also brought traditional bread makers from rural areas in Egypt, Lebanon and Iraq, who will temp guests with authentic breads, such as Lebanese Manakish and Saj.
Leading the team is Chef de Cuisine Hanan Osman who brings over 25 years of experience, crafting culinary artworks in luxury hotels. Originally from Egypt, Hanan joined the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain in 2006 and has a special talent for mouth-watering, homemade style Egyptian cuisine. Hanan leads the team as Chef de Cuisine - Oriental Kitchen, and also collaborates hotel’s Banquet team.
In addition to the delectable delights of the Ramadan buffet, the team have also crafted a real sweet treat for the guests. The talented team has created a stunning, handcrafted edible art gallery. The dedicated ‘chocolate room’ is a chocolate lover’s paradise with chocolate sculptures, statues, and chocolate art walls, fondue, truffles, corals and bonbons, and cocoa bean concoctions. Accompanying the handmade chocolates is Arabic coffee, served by Saiful Abdulasim, The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain’s Arabic Coffee expert. Saiful, who hails from Bangladesh, came to Bahrain in 2001 and began his journey with the hotel in the banquets department. His passion, however was in Arabic cuisine and he discovered a particular talent in creating Arabic Coffee art. During the holy month of Ramadan, Saiful says that he ensures every flavor of traditional spices are infused and captured in the "Dalla" (Arabic coffee pot) and that the correct temperature is maintained. His dedicated Arabic coffee team, who tailor each brew to suit the different taste palates of our diverse guests, serves more than 600 guests daily.
The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Ramadan experience encompasses more than just the delectable food. The ambient surroundings are carefully designed and monitored, and this would not be possible without the engineering team, who take care of all aspects of guest safety and comfort and bring the whole Al Khayma experience together. Rocky Mascarenas is responsible for the lighting and air conditioning and controls the thermal and atmospheric settings of the tent; Mr. Reynato Cordez is the kitchen technician who works hard to make sure all kitchen equipment are installed in an efficient manner and manages the myriad last minute changes.
