Cairo Egypt, December 2017 – The Nile Ritz-Carlton announces a series of initiatives to empower women and build a stronger, safer community for all women to celebrate their momentous achievements.

Entitled the “Woman Up” program, the initiative will be hosted by key female figures in the local community to foster open discussions about how women can gain self-confidence and rise above the barriers of women’s equality that is ingrained in cultural norms.

In a launch event hosted on 23 November 2017, program instructor and self-defense expert, Hatem Sabry, explored the theme of safety and security, teaching participants how to be more alert of their surroundings to protect themselves, their children, their home and their community.

The “Woman Up” program includes a three-day self-defense course exploring various self-defense techniques to help boost self-confidence and teach participants how to turn an inconvenient situation to their favor.

The program fee is 1,000 Egyptian pounds, and is open to the public starting from January 2018 on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm. For more information about the self-defense course, please contact The Nile Ritz-Carlton team on +2 (02) 2577 8899
