NEW ORLEANS (September 2016) – This festive season at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans promises to be the most joyful yet, with a full calendar of special events planned for both hotel guests and local visitors. The celebrations begin on Thanksgiving Eve with a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the hotel’s ornate holiday decorations, including the centerpiece: a life-sized gingerbread house replica of the famed New Orleans’ ‘Wedding Cake House.’ The following weeks through Christmastime include a range of events from breakfast and tea with Papa Noel, to an elaborate Reveillon Dinner, along with specialty holiday themed menus of festive meals and cocktails all season long.
Marvel at this year’s life-sized gingerbread display in the lobby of The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans, modeled after the well-known ‘Wedding Cake House,’ a Victorian colonial-revival home on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans. Guests will be able to walk through the gingerbread structure throughout the season. In addition to the grand gingerbread house in the hotel lobby, The Ritz Carlton, New Orleans will be offering the following events for guests and locals:
Build Your Own Gingerbread House – Continue the tradition with The Ritz-Carlton as children of all ages are invited to build their own festive gingerbread house. For $100 for a table of four, guests will receive a gingerbread house with all of the decorating essentials in addition to holiday refreshments. Available December 10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 at 12:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.
Papa Noel Tea – Join Papa Noel in The Davenport Lounge for a special holiday celebration. Children will enjoy cookie decorating, viewing The Ritz-Carlton’s one of a kind gingerbread display, and other holiday surprises. Available December 10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 at 11:00 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. for $55/person.
Breakfast with Papa Noel – Begin a new holiday tradition with family, friends and Papa Noel. The breakfast jubilee is sure to put the whole family in the holiday spirit with cookie decorating, festive crafts and plenty of holiday cheer. Available December 20 at 9:30 a.m. for $52/person.
Holiday Cocktails – Throughout the month of December, enjoy a holiday twist on classic cocktails such as the ‘Manhattan Miracle’ comprised of Maker’s Mark, Amaro Nonio, Cranberry Juice, Clove Syrup and Peychauds Bitters or the refreshing ‘Winter Sparkler’ made of Domaine de Canton, St. Germain, Prosecco and garnished with a grapefruit slice.
Reveillon Dinner – Enjoy the Creole tradition from the mid-1800s at M Bistro with a special Reveillon four-course holiday feast. Select menu items include seafood gumbo, bronzed scallops with butternut squash risotto and crab butter, Chappapeela Farms porterhouse pork shop with apple shallot bacon cobbler and pickled cabbage, Strawberry Buche de Noel, and spiced chocolate moelleux with a cognac glaze. The four-course dinner is served throughout the month of December for $80/adult, $40/Petit Gourmand (12 and under).
Christmas Day Feast – Allow the culinary experts at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans to remove the hassle from your holiday season. Enjoy an enhanced four-course menu featuring a seafood buffet, dessert station, unlimited champagne and live entertainment. The four-course menu is served from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. for $95/adult and $40/Petit Gourmand (12 and under).
