Under the direction of Sommelier Marika Vida-Arnold, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park offers memorable and rare evenings of luxury food and wine.

Marika has instructed for the American Sommelier Association in New York and the French Wine Society and holds titles of Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and the American Sommelier Association. She is a Certified Specialist of Wine with the Society of Wine Educators and holds the Advanced Certificate for the Wine and Spirits Education Trust.

Marika’s most recent wine series in Auden Bistro & Bar is the critically acclaimed "Phenomenal Femmes' program, which features female winemakers from around the globe each month. 

The Ritz-Carlton’s wine and chocolate pairing course “Chocolate Takes Flight with Marika Vida” has been another prominent series showcased in Auden Bistro.

Since its revolutionary beginning in 1979, Opus One has been a renowned name in the wine industry. Founded by two legends of the wine world – Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi – Opus One combines the great winemaking traditions and innovations of both families in the heart of Napa Valley, CA. Today, it remains one of the world’s most coveted wines and a benchmark for what can be achieved when two top wineries join forces.

A pioneer for women in the industry, France Posener has worked in the wine industry since 1983. Fueled by her passion for wine and food, she eventually landed at the most distinguished of Napa properties and has remained for twenty-nine years – Opus One as the Eastern States Divisional Manager.

Joining Opus One in 2001, Michael Silacci became winemaker in 2004, taking on responsibility for all aspects of viticulture and winemaking. Advancing a holistic vision of winegrowing, Silacci ensures that the connection between viticulture and winemaking is seamless, reflecting the philosophy of its founders.
