New program furthers the brand’s ideals of creating lasting memories through unforgettable, locally driven experiences
CHEVY CHASE, MD – December, 2017 – The Ritz-Carlton is excited to launch its latest brand initiative, #RCMemories, to draw guests into their destinations through unexpected moments and unique programming. A collection of experiences curated by the Ladies and Gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton across the brand’s portfolio and inspired by the surrounding locales, #RCMemories connects guests to local culture by featuring a destination’s taste, scent, sight or sound.
“Today’s luxury traveler wants to connect with their destination in an authentic and meaningful way and #RCMemories gives our guests that opportunity,” said Hervé Humler, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. “Whether it is by doing sunrise yoga in Bali or listening to a local ranger at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, we are providing our guests with a deeper understanding of their location through #RCMemories and these one-of-a-kind cultural experiences.”
An homage to the identity and heritage of a destination, #RCMemories offerings are unique to the individual Ritz-Carlton property. Whether it’s an amenity, a cultural ceremony, or an engaging performance, a property’s programming brings a unique element of its location to life. At The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain guests gather around a fire pit and listen to a Dove Mountain Ranger recount local folklore, which is complimented by a Native American flautist. Or, guests can experience the Tree of Life lighting ceremony at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain, which signifies life through the illumination of lights, lamps, lanterns and candles. Additionally, guests at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman can witness the Sunset Ceremony, which takes place every afternoon around 6:30 p.m. at Bar Jack, when the breathtakingly beautiful Grand Cayman sunsets are announced before the sun begins to descend into the deep blue sea. In each instance, #RCMemories is designed to encourage exploration and further the understanding of local cultures through unexpected experiences.
#RCMemories includes several cultural guest experiences that happen daily, which are further supported by programming and opportunities guests can participate in. At The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi, guests will become spellbound by the ‘Dance of Thanks to the Sea’ that takes place at the golden hour of sunset at the beach with gamelan music. Guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto will discover the gold-flecked Kyoto Shanbon-ya handmade soap in their rooms, which signifies local history, as well as over four hundred pieces of modern Japanese artwork displayed throughout the hotel.
As part of #RCMemories, additional paid services are also offered at each property. At The Ritz-Carlton, Bali, to expound on the experience of placing spiritual offerings at the Resort Temple and shrines, guests can book a soul purification ritual or a market-to-table experience at Culinary Cave. Hotel Arts Barcelona offers daily flower workshops led by Donna Stain to provide guests with insight on how she creates such beautiful floral arrangements.
