China Mood restaurant welcomes Chinese New Year with flavourful specialties

Muscat, Sultanate of Oman; 12th January 2017: Start the Year of the Rooster with an unforgettable culinary journey at the multi-award winning China Mood restaurant at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

The Palace invites gourmet guests and visitors to embark on a tasteful journey to re-discover the rich and diverse gastronomy of the Land of the Red Dragon with a dedicated tasting menu created by Chef Lau and his expert culinary team.

Paying homage to the cuisine and culture of China, the Chinese New Year tasting menu includes dishes such as wok-tossed lobster with XO sauce, spicy prawns, dry braised scallops, and a selection of Chef Lau’s renowned dim sums.

Originally served in Cantonese teahouses, bite-sized dim sums are China’s most traditional delights. For the occasion, Chef Lau has revisited the popular dish, adding local flavours and serving up steamed vegetable dumplings and fried seafood spring roll in traditional steam baskets for an authentic dining experience at the table.

The tasting menu is designed to take guests from one region to another, indulging in an unlimited variety of flavours, while enjoying a spectacular show from the restaurant’s very own tea sommelier. A special vegetarian menu has also been created by the culinary team.
