PHILADELPHIA, PA. (April 2016) – The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia, a storied hotel on the Avenue of the Arts, is currently undergoing a $24 million renewal which includes updates to the guest rooms, meeting and public spaces and a refreshed lobby experience with a new restaurant bar and lounge. The renovation began in October 2015 and will be complete by spring 2016.
In the process of this massive project, the team has gotten creative about engaging with visitors. With a now-limited lobby, the hotel installed a two-dimensional ‘cultural wall,’ an interactive series of photo displays on the construction wall. Guests can “insert” themselves right into the picture, ideal for a photo op, especially to share on social media. Being a city that has a particular penchant for the performing and visual arts, the displays highlight Philadelphia’s performing arts organizations, specifically The Philadelphia Orchestra, Pennsylvania Ballet, and Opera Philly. The displays also include video and audio components.
“Our goal was to develop a concept that would excite guests of all ages while honoring the cultural and performing arts in Philadelphia,” said Darrell Adams, General Manager. “Together the hotel staff and partner organizations created assets to inspire guests to take images with the variety of life size displays, stepping right into the orchestra, opera and ballet.”
