NEW YORK, NY – August 8, 2017 – Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, a pristine paradise with stunning views and direct access to the Atlantic Ocean, is thrilled to announce its new “Hook-to-Cook” program. Launching this month, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a half-day fishing excursion before retreating to La Cocina, the property’s interactive culinary education center, to enjoy a specially-crafted meal featuring the fish caught earlier that day.
Participating guests will venture out to sea with the resort’s concierge, as well as expert fishing instructors who will demonstrate the best methods for catching local deep-sea fish including Mahi-Mahi (also known as Dorado) and Wahoo. Chefs at the resort will later prepare the fish while the newfound fisherman look on and enjoy specially paired wines. Using locally sourced produce, herbs grown on property and open fire cooking methods Dorado Beach’s chef will enhance the natural flavors of the fish to serve a taste of the best in Puerto Rican cuisine.
The meal will be accompanied by an in-depth explanation of the culinary processes and inspiration behind the techniques and ingredients as well as wine pairings for each course. The “Hook-to-Cook” program aims to enhance guest’s connectivity with the local destination and support sustainable fishing methods.
The “Hook to Cook” experience is personally tailored to guests and can accommodate up to six people on each boat, starting at $990 USD per boat, with transportation included.
