Ada Pérez now holds a distinctive position in the luxury hospitality industry
SAN JUAN, P.R. (SEPTEMBER 2, 2016) –The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan is honored to announce that seasoned leader of Ada Pérez will be the hotel’s new casino general manager and at the same time, will make history for Puerto Rico’s hospitality industry. With three decades of combined casino operations field expertise and hospitality experience, Ada will assume responsibility for all gaming functions, management and strategies.
“We are delighted to welcome Ada, whose passion for elevating the casino experience for locals and travelers alike is incredibly energizing,” said Jacqueline Volkart, general manager for The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan. “Her well-rounded knowledge in the gaming industry and leadership skills make her an excellent choice to operate the island’s most luxurious casino,” added Volkart.
Born in Cuba and raised in Spain and Puerto Rico, Ada’s comprehensive career started in 1985 as a croupier. The opportunity to become a casino director was first given to her in 1998 when she decided to transfer to Oranjestad, Aruba.
She moved back to Puerto Rico and honed her senior management skills at top hotels, where she led a casino team as the assistant to casino regional director between 2001 and 2004. During this time Ada obtained the Croupier School License from the General Council of Education. Her most recent position was at another San Juan hotel, where she held the position of casino director since 2004.
Perez is a member of the Puerto Rico Hotel Association, Puerto Rico Casino Association and the Puerto Rico Labor Law Association.
