Doha, Qatar – 13 June, 2016 – This Ramadan, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha continues with annual tradition to host key Community Footprints activities focusing on social responsibility initiatives in partnership with local non-profit organizations, namely Qatar’s Red Crescent, Capital Security Department, FANAR Centre, Heart Hospital and Rumailah Hospital.
Every day in this holy month, the ladies and gentlemen at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha prepare approximately 150 meals, from cooking to packing, to be delivered to the municipality cleaning labors’ camp site. Additionally, the team also prepares 175 meals for prisoners at the Capital Security, 175 meals for participants at FANAR center, 110 meals for patients at Rumailah Hospital and 65 meals for the Heart Hospital.
“The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is delighted to give back to the local community and support one of our company’s key foundations, which is the Community Footprints. This initiative not only raises further awareness on the importance of sharing and contributing to society, but also allows our team to enliven the spirit of genuine care and legendary service that are core values of The Ritz-Carlton company culture,” said Erden Kendigelen, general manager, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.
Last year, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha was awarded the global Community Footprints Award at the 2015 GM’s Conference held in the United States for being a role model in helping those in need. In 2014, the hotel bagged the Best Corporate Social Responsibility award by Qatar Tourism Authority for supporting various societies and organizations in Qatar through this program.
The Community Footprints program encourages and supports the ladies and gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton to participate in community initiatives through philanthropy, volunteerism, education and environmental preservation. The three key areas of Community Footprints are:
Hunger and Poverty Relief: providing products and services to those in need
Education and Development: supporting disadvantaged children and youth
