SINGAPORE – 25 October 2017 – Celebrate the Christmas season with festive dining, spa and staycation offers at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore.

According to tradition, the burning of a Yule log was believed to bring good fortune to the family and ward off evil. Today, the Yule log has become a traditional cake roll eaten during Christmas. Drawing inspiration from the key flavours we experience in every festive meal, Pastry Chef, Benjamin Siwek specially conceived each log cake to represent a distinct taste - sweet, salty, sour, bitter and umami.

A sweet treat to round up your festive celebrations, the Rose & Lychee log cake with fresh raspberries and macaronade biscuit promises to be a crowd pleaser, while the Sea Salt Caramel Yule log is the perfect blend of dark chocolate mousse, sea salt caramel and crème brûlée.

The mildly tart Mango & Passionfruit log cake is comprised of mango and passionfruit jelly, gianduja mousse and hazelnut biscuit to satiate your palate, while the Japanese-inspired Green Tea log cake showcases the umami flavours of green tea, cherry jelly and sakura crémeux. Those who prefer less saccharine desserts will delight in the bittersweet combination of pink grapefruit jelly and nougat mousse in the Grapefruit log cake.

A signature item from Colony Bakery - the Upper Crust is comprised of a cookie crust and a muffin base. Specially conceived for the festive season, delight in a delectable chocolate muffin with peppermint filling, topped with a double chocolate chip cookie.

Looking for the perfect gift for business associates or loved ones? The limited edition Vintage Colony Chest is filled with an assortment of traditional goodies such as a chocolate Christmas tree, fruit cake, stollen, chocolate pralines, panettone, Festive Upper Crust, black tea, and a bottle of Moët & Chandon vintage Champagne.

The Grand Ballroom (Level One)

Get into the Christmas spirit at the annual Christmas family buffet brunch extravaganza, which will be held in The Grand Ballroom. Entertainment highlights include a five-piece band, Christmas carollers, and a photo booth, while the little ones will relish the plethora of activities which include a bouncy castle, kiddy rides, carnival games, face painting, a magic show, a balloonist and even a guest appearance by Santa Claus.

Gastronomic highlights include glazed gammon ham with jalapeno spiced corn bread, baked cod fillet in paperbark with lemon jus gras, herb-crusted lamb with fresh mint jelly and côte de boeuf with bourguignon sauce. Kids may look forward to buffet specials such as a live pizza counter, creamy chicken fricassee with pappardelle, and miniature cupcakes for a sweet treat to round off the meal.

Join us for the final soiree of the year and usher in 2018 over an extravagant New Year’s Eve spread at Colony. Culinary highlights include onsen egg with sea urchin, abalone with yuzu jelly, flambé foie gras with truffle snow, wagyu tomahawk wellington, salt-crusted turbot, and king crab bee hoon with truffle.

At the stroke of midnight, catch the mesmerising fireworks over Marina Bay from the hotel lobby, before adjourning to Chihuly Lounge for the after party complete with a five-piece ‘live’ band until 2 a.m.
