Tenerife – 24th November, 2016, The Ritz-Carlton Abama, Tenerife, is delighted to announce its continued success in maintaining its stable of three Michelin stars across two of its world-renowned restaurants. The recent Michelin review recognised the continued excellence of cuisine at the resort’s two-star rated M.B. restaurant and its one-star Japanese fusion restaurant Kabuki.
With a global reputation for gastronomic excellence, The Ritz-Carlton, Abama was honoured its third Michelin accolade in the 2014 guide. This was the second star awarded to the resort’s M.B. restaurant under Basque Chef Martin Berasategui’s direction, and leadership of his Executive Chef Erlantz Gorostiza. The property has also retained its star awarded to Abama Kabuki in the 2013 guide, recognising the quality, mastery of technique, personality and consistency of food delivered by Canarian chef Daniel Franco under the direction of Ricardo Sanz.
The continued industry recognition further strengthens The Ritz-Carlton Abama’s reputation, continuing to stand as the only resort in Europe offering a total of three Michelin stars. This comes at the end of a year which debuted further culinary developments and openings, with exciting new enhancements slated for January 2017.
Martin Berasategui’s second restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, Abama, this year, introduced TXOKO, based on a traditional concept from the Basque country and an experimental take on traditional Spanish cuisine served in a contemporary Taverna inspired setting. To meet growing demand at Abama Kabuki, with its exceptional reputation for exquisite and creative Japanese gastronomy, the restaurant re-launched this Summer relocating to a chic new location, offering larger premises, a brand new sushi bar, new techniques and expanded menus.
From 20th December, guests at The Ritz-Carlton, Abama can experience a brand new steak restaurant, formerly the Argentinian venue ‘Pampa’, which will introduce the finest cuts of beef cooked on an open copper grill in a warehouse-style setting. The resort’s ‘Verona’ restaurant will also be relocating, opening in January 2017 in a stylish new space, and continuing to deliver exceptional Italian cuisine.
