Edible Six-Foot Gingerbread Arch is Crafted of Personalized Bricks,
Raises Funds for Children’s Causes

ST. LOUIS, MO. – November 9, 2015 – Area residents and hotel guests are invited to celebrate the 2015 holidays at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis, and to enjoy treasured events including Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts, the family traditions of Teddy Bear Tea and Brunch with Santa, live reindeer visits, New Year’s merriment and the November 28 reveal of the hotel’s Giant Gingerbread Arch.

This year’s six-foot Gingerbread Arch will be joyfully decorated for the holidays in a salute both to the 50th anniversary of the city’s Gateway Arch and to the fascinating wonders of Forest Park. Created with 250 pounds of flour, 50 pounds of molasses, two pounds of ginger and 125 pounds of royal icing, the arch will overlook a sweet wonderland of miniature Forest Park attractions, including a tiny St. Louis Zoo, Muny, Boat House and Ice Rink. It will be divided into gingerbread bricks which may be “purchased” and then personalized in frosting with the name of the purchaser. The cost of each brick is $25 USD, with all brick proceeds to be donated to children’s programs at the city’s Ronald McDonald House.

The hotel will also welcome guests on a related new holiday season overnight package, Gateway to the Holidays, which features 16th-floor Arch-view weekend night accommodations, breakfast for two, parking and one personalized brick on the Gingerbread Arch. This special experience is priced from $239 per night.

2015 Holiday festivities and dining events at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis are open to the public and will include the following. Offerings, times and availability are subject to change, and pricing is exclusive of tax, gratuity and beverages, unless otherwise specified.
