ST. LOUIS, MO. – December 3, 2015 –St. Louis-area residents are invited to turn holiday stress into treasured memories this year, experiencing comfort and joy within the warm seasonal embrace of the Clayton hotel.
The Ritz-Carlton has been joyfully decorated for the holidays and features a dazzling Gingerbread Arch rising in the center of the Lobby, and overlooking a miniature Forest Park crafted of gingerbread and sweet confectionery. Created with 250 pounds of flour, 50 pounds of molasses, two pounds of ginger and 125 pounds of royal icing, the six-foot Gingerbread Arch is divided into gingerbread bricks which may be “purchased” and then personalized by guests, in exchange for a $25 USD donation to children and family programs at the city’s Ronald McDonald House. The frosted landmark and edible wonderland beneath it also honor the 50th anniversary of the St. Louis Gateway Arch, which was celebrated this fall and will be commemorated throughout the coming year.
The Gingerbread Arch will adorn the hotel’s lobby until December 28 and is open throughout the day and evening for complimentary public viewing.
