Ramadan is the ninth month of Lunar Islamic Calendar and is observed with fasting and prayers by Muslims worldwide. The holy month commemorates the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad. The Holy Month of Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection and prayer for all Muslims. The fast begins at dawn and ends at sunset. Suhur is the meal consumed in the morning by Muslims before fasting and Iftar is the meal eaten after sunset during Ramadan. It is traditionally enjoyed by the entire family, with friends or colleagues as it is a community celebration. For non-fasting populations, it is appropriate to adopt a humble and respectful behavior during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
