Experience festive events, offerings and more in D.C. this holiday season

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 2016) – This holiday season at The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C. promises to be the most joyful yet, with a full calendar of special events planned for both hotel guests and local visitors. The celebrations begin this November and will include a range of events from holiday mixology and gingerbread making classes to cocktails and hot chocolate on the patio.

Marvel at this year’s stunning Wishing Tree in the hotel’s main lobby reminding guests of the season of giving.  The tree is decorated with holiday wishes from children of Martha’s Table, a local organization dedicated to fulfilling the needs of low-income and homeless children, families, and individuals.  Festive gingerbread ornaments created by Executive Pastry Chef John Quinn will also hang on the beautiful Wishing Tree. In addition to the magnificent Wishing Tree in the hotel lobby, The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C. will be offering the following:

  • Shake the Holidays Mixology Class – Join Lead Mixologist Chris Mendenhall in Quadrant for a fun and educational holiday cocktail tasting event.  Chris will be teaching how to create his favorite big batch cocktails for holiday entertaining, while guests sip on holiday-inspired cocktails and small bites.  Available November 19 and December 3 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for $45/person

  • Cocktails on the Patio – Warm up with seasonal cocktails on Westend Bistro’s patio featuring cozy seating, outdoor heaters, warm pashminas and festive decorations; the patio offers a beautiful intimate space for socializing with friends this holiday season beginning Friday, November 25 through inauguration.

  • Gourmet Hot Chocolate – Savor this holiday season with three indulgent hot chocolates from around the world with a choice of mouth-watering toppings.  Sip on sumptuous hot chocolate during the day, and hot chocolate with a “kick” in the evening on Westend Bistro’s outdoor patio daily beginning Friday, November 25 until December 31.

  • Gingerbread House Decorating Classes – Led by the hotel’s pastry team, children will learn the art of decorating gingerbread houses while having fun creating their own to take home.  Enjoy hot cocoa and holiday cookies and go home with a gingerbread creation and a Ritz-Carlton chef’s hat and apron.  Available Sundays, December 4 and 11 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for $75 per child, ages 3 to 12 including tax and gratuity.

  • Chocolate Decadence – Enjoy a buffet of sumptuous chocolate and candy desserts, including a candy cane bar and Champagne cocktails from the Champagne Sommelier in Quadrant.  Available Saturday, December 10 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for $45/person.

  • Christmas Breakfast Buffet – Start Christmas day on a delicious note with a leisurely breakfast buffet at Westend Bistro including bottomless champagne and a bloody mary bar from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for $55 per person.

  • Christmas Dinner – Enjoy a festive dinner at Westend Bistro where the menu will feature specials crafted for the holidays from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

  • New Years – The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C. will be hosting a variety of New Years celebrations from a four-course prix fixe dinner in Westend Bistro for $90/person and holiday cocktails and live entertainment in Quadrant on New Year’s Eve to a Recovery Breakfast Buffet in Westend Bistro on January 1 complete with champagne cocktails, bloody mary bar and juice bar for $55/person.
