For your convenience, we have compiled answers to common questions about our Georgetown day spa that you may find helpful in choosing the types of spa treatments that best meet your individual needs or desires.
Is there a minimum age for treatments? The Boutique Spa at The Ritz-Carlton does not provide treatments for guests under 18 years old.
What if I am late for my appointment?
Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment, thus lessening its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your treatment will end on time so that the next guest will not be delayed. The full value of your treatment will be applied.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you must reschedule or cancel your appointment, please notify us 24–hours before your scheduled appointment to avoid being charged the full service fee. Cancellations of packages or private parties require a 48-hour notice. A credit card number is required at the time you book your treatments.
What about gratuities?
A gratuity is included in some package pricing but not on any of our individual services. Gratuities are completely at your discretion and may be made by cash or credit. A 15–20 percent gratuity is customary.
What about payment for spa services? We accept all major credit cards. You may charge spa services to your hotel bill. For your convenience, payment is also accepted prior to your treatments.
What if I have special health considerations? Please notify our Spa Concierge before booking your treatments if you have high blood pressure, allergies, any physical ailments, disabilities or if you are pregnant. If you have any concerns, at all, please let us know. If, at any time during your services, you experience discomfort, please alert your therapist immediately.
What if I am pregnant? While there are a few services that should be avoided during pregnancy, there are many beneficial treatments that can be enjoyed. Please notify our Spa Concierge if you are pregnant when making your appointments so they can offer guidance.
Prior to Arrival
How can I make a reservation? Reservations may be made by calling (202) 912-4175.
Who can guide me in choosing my treatments? Our Spa Concierge will help you plan the perfect spa experience, including the best order for your treatments.
When should I arrive? For your enhanced comfort and relaxation, we suggest that you arrive 25 minutes before your scheduled treatment. This will allow you to relax in our lounge, sauna and steam room.
What should I wear during my treatment? Most body treatments are enjoyed without clothing, however, please wear whatever is comfortable for you. During all treatments, the body is fully draped, except for the area being worked on. Before and after your treatment, robes and slippers are provided in lockers for your use.
Should I shave before a treatment? Shaving is recommended but not necessary for men prior to a facial. If you do choose to shave prior to your facial, be sure to do so at least two hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Shaving is not recommended prior to any body treatments or hair removal services.
What about my comfort? This is your time and you should delight in the experience to the fullest. Whether it's the room temperature, the amount of massage pressure or the volume of the music, please notify us of any discomforts or preferences. We request that cell phones and pagers be turned off when having treatments.
What about my jewelry and valuables? If you are staying at the hotel, please leave valuable items in your guestroom safe. Otherwise, lockers in the spa facility are available for personal items.
Are Gift Certificates available from the spa? Absolutely. You may purchase redeemable gift certificates at the Boutique Spa.
