The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City Announces New Executive Chef: Sriram Hariharan

ARLINGTON, Va. – August 6, 2015 – Mr. Morrow, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City, is delighted to announce the appointment of Sriram Hariharan, new executive chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City. 

Chef Hariharan began his career in India, holding several positions with Taj Hotels. He joined The Ritz-Carlton family in 2002 at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples as a lead line cook. In 2004, Hariharan transferred to The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain as a sous chef where he was responsible for culinary restaurant operations. In 2006, he rejoined The Ritz-Carlton, Naples where he worked as a saucier and garde manager sous chef for three years. In 2009, Hariharan transferred to the Ritz-Carlton, Naples Golf Resort where he was responsible for the daily management of the culinary operation including banquets and the various dining outlets. Since 2012, he has been the executive sous chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, DC where he has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of the culinary division including the administrative responsibility of controlling payroll and food cost. 

Chef thanks his parents for encouraging his passion for cooking and is inspired daily by his uncle who is a successful chef and restauranteur in Australia. Hariharan holds degrees from both The Culinary Institute of America and the Indian Institute of Hotel Management.
