BOSTON, Mass. - September 26, 2017 - The Ritz-Carlton, Boston is pleased to announce that Mr. William Bunce has been named General Manager of the AAA Five-Diamond Ritz-Carlton Hotel and The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston effective immediately.

Mr. Bunce, a leader in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years, brings a strong and diverse depth of experience to this role in Boston, which has him returning to the city after spending nearly five years in New York. There, Bunce was both General Manager of W New York, Union Square and Complex General Manager for W New York overall.
Bunce also began his hospitality career in New York city, where he held several operational roles with Morgan Hotels prior to launching his career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts. He relocated to New England to open the Westin Providence in 1994 and has been a pivotal leader with Starwood for the past 17 years in various key operational roles.
Bunce assumed the Six Sigma Black Belt role as Director of Operations when Six Sigma was first launched. In 2003, he assumed General Manager responsibilities at the Sheraton Lexington and Sheraton Braintree. That experience led him to his next challenge as opening General Manager for W Boston Hotel & Residences. As the opening GM, he positioned the hotel as one of the leading hotels in the city and secured the prestigious accolade, “W Hotel of the Year in 2011.”
Mr. Bunce is also an active community member serving on the board of the Bay Colony Shakespeare Educational Theatre company.
