The luxury property reveals phase one enhancements, creating a reimagined Ritz-Carlton, Chicago experience

CHICAGO (August 16, 2016) –The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago officially unveiled phase one of a multi-phase renovation today with several enhancements including a brand new Ritz-Carlton Club® Lounge. Located in the city’s fashion mecca, The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago also “refashioned” its suites and guest room corridors and upgraded its state-of-the-art fitness center. The property is redefining luxury standards on the Magnificent Mile with updates that enrich the style, sophistication and tradition of The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago guest experience.

“The exciting addition of the Club Lounge offers our guests an exclusive and personalized experience and reprieve in the midst of the bustling city,” said General Manager Michel Goget. “The new Club Lounge, along with lavish upgrades to the corridors, fitness center and suite bathrooms continues to raise the luxury standard in Chicago’s famed Gold Coast.”

The 2,600-square-foot Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge, a Ritz-Carlton hotel brand standard, is located on the 15th floor and showcases stunning views in the city including the Historic Water Tower, the Magnificent Mile, and Lake Michigan. Serving as a hotel within a hotel, the Club Lounge is an intimate and exclusive space that offers a retreat for families to gather and for business and travelers alike to connect. Within the space, there will be a dedicated Club Concierge Team whose expertise includes providing the finest personal service to assist with any guest needs or experiences they seek while in Chicago. Further, the Club Concierge is able to assist with check out, for a seamless travel experience.

What further sets this space apart in downtown Chicago is the weekly, 30-minute experiential activities. These one-of-a-kind experiences are exclusive to Club Lounge guests and are locallyinspired.

For instance, Ritz Kids guests can enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the neighboring firehouse and businesses and leisure travelers are able to immerse themselves in Chicago culture and cuisine through local wine and brewery partnerships. These standout Club Lounge experiences will deepen guests’ connection to the city.

The Club Lounge offers five different food and beverage options throughout the day – from healthy breakfast options to hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and evening desserts. Guests will be delighted to find these exclusive offerings in a sophisticated space featuring walnut hardwood floors complemented by clean, modern walnut cabinetry highlighted by hints of blue, gold and brown, all of which tie into the ambiance of the hotel.

Beyond the addition of the Club Lounge, all suites and guest room corridors have been refashioned to deliver what luxury seekers and travelers expect today, including upgraded bathrooms in all 90 suites. The decidedly modern, yet minimalistic, design features all new arctic glacier white vanities, grey linear stone floors and separate shower and toilet rooms. The overall design takes the iconic nature of the surrounding Chicago scene and fuses it with a contemporary feel, connecting the hotel with the destination in a timeless manner.

Additionally, guests now have motivational views during their workouts from the state-of-the-art fitness center of Navy Pier, Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago. The space has been expanded to 2,700 square feet and features top-of-the-line cardio and strength training equipment as well as an updated studio space for fitness classes. New classes and programming include Rooftop Voga, a blend of yoga and “vogueing” to 80s music; Zumba, and other fitness classes; nutrition counseling including a focus on clean eating; corporate group exercise classes such as yoga, bootcamp, and a group run; and customized workouts from a personal trainer with in-person and remote training options.

San Francisco-based design firm, BAMO, is working with the hotel to create elegant, purposefully planned and distinctive designs. Phase two of enhancements will begin January 2017 and will continue to take the iconic nature of the building and marry it with modern design, further connecting it with the destination in a classic, timeless manner. By June 2017, The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago will debut a completely refashioned lobby, signature restaurant, bar, spa and select meeting spaces. A new market café will be added to the 12th floor and offer convenient items, coffees and teas.
