Club Lounge attendant, Anna found out that a guest and his mother were both visiting Europe for the first time. The guests travelled all the way from California to see a number of European capitals, Budapest being one of them. Upon escorting the guests to their room she learned that they were wine-lovers, which inspired her to create a unique experience for them. Fully committed to make the guests’ stay memorable, she found a way to connect a well-known grape called Zinfadel, harvested in California, with a local one called Cirfandli based on the resemblance in taste.
She wanted to share this information with the guests in a special way so with the help of the Club Lounge Team she surprised them by turning the lounge meeting space into a private wine tasting. She printed a map of Hungary, marked the 22 different wine regions, and explained the characteristics of each, while the guests enjoyed the variety of local wines. Upon checkout the lady mentioned how greatly touched they were by the team’s dedication and the personalized attention they received. They hugged Anna goodbye and said they would highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest as a destination to their friends. A few months later, friends of the guests checked into the hotel.
