NAPLES, FL. – January 19, 2017- World renowned artist and designer Michael Aram will be appearing at The Gallery shop located in The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, for a special showing and signing of his spring 2017 fine jewelry and home collections. This event will take place on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. and will kick-off the Michael Aram Trunk Show taking place in The Gallery February 10 – 12, 2017.
Michael Aram is an award-winning designer of beautiful and distinctive objects. After taking what would later be a life-altering trip to India in 1989 where he discovered rich metalworking traditions, Aram turned his artistic vision towards craft-based design. For over twenty-five years, he has honed his metallurgist techniques to create his signature sculpted designs in precious metals, which capture the beauty, significance, and whimsy of nature.
Michael Aram is highly inspired by his surroundings and often represents objects through his sculpture that might otherwise be overlooked in the everyday. Nature is his biggest muse, as is the handmade process.
“For me, there is inherent symbolic meaning in my choice of motifs and materials,” explains Aram. “Nature offers limitless design inspiration. My vision is to share the gift of nature with my collectors through something personal that they can cherish every day.”
Although most recognized for his signature metal gift and tabletop offerings, he also designs large-scale sculptures, furniture, lighting, home fragrance, textiles, porcelain, and fine jewelry.
With his fine jewelry, Aram invites you to enter an enchanted world where twigs entwine wrists, vines caress fingers, and feathers take flight on ears. His work elevates craft into art, making any occasion that much more exceptional. As inspired objects, his jewelry expresses the refined sensibilities of the extraordinary women who wear it.
Aram’s fine jewelry and celebrated decorative arts collections are created with age-old techniques and imbued with a soulful quality that reflects the hand of the artist. Michael Aram’s skillful artisans combine traditional mastery with breathtaking innovation.
“There is a tremendous reflection of our own humanity in the objects we make. When you make things by hand, somehow that energy, that tension, that passion, all gets absorbed into the object being made.” Aram says, “Objects are powerful. They trace history, trace our passage through time, they capture memories for generations.”
