HAIKOU, CHINA – January 31, 2017 - Mr. Christopher W. Sommers General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Haikou is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Puckseng Tang as executive chef of the brand’s first golf resort in China, The Ritz-Carlton, Haikou, where he will be leading the Ladies & Gentlemen of the culinary team.
“I am excited about creating invaluable experiences through my craft,” said Mr. Puckseng Tang executive chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Haikou, “and I look forward to both contributing and learning new flavors and culinary concepts at The Ritz-Carlton, Haikou.”
Mr. Tang has worked for The Ritz-Carlton Hotels in China for 17 years, starting his career with the company at The Ritz-Carlton Millennia, Singapore. After briefly venturing out to work for The Westin Tianjin and Mandarin Oriental Beijing in 2008, he rejoined the company as executive sous chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou. Afterwards, he assisted in leading the successful opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Tianjin since 2013 where he also led the team in achieving goals in key financial, operational, and marketing elements.
With a strong passion for food preparation and management, Mr. Tang received a National Trade Certificate from the Singapore Hotel Association Training and Education Centre, and has undergone a number of specialized training courses as well including an Advanced Food Hygiene Course organized and conducted by the Singapore Polytechnic School of Chemical and Life Sciences. As a native Singaporean, Mr. Tang enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with his friends during his spare time.

Fine dining takes on new meaning in Haikou with the introduction of the elegant Tin Lung Heen Cantonese restaurant with its classic Chinese décor design. Meanwhile, the modern rusticity of Terra provides a warm backdrop to an international line-up of authentic dishes from Tuscany to China.
