What is required by China for a legal wedding ceremony?

 

Marriage in China consists of a civil marriage registration by the couple at a Chinese municipal government office. The male partner must be 22 years of age or older and the female partner must be 20 years of age or older.

 

What do I need to know before contacting the hotel?

 

You should know the estimated number of guests, a date, and an approximate budget for your event. If possible, choose a few alternate dates in case your first choice is not available.

 

How far in advance should I reserve the date?

 

Although The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing often fills the most popular dates as far as one year in advance, other dates are typically available with less notice. Contact the hotel for more information about available dates.

 

What is the average cost per person for my wedding at The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing?

 

Based on our current wedding packages, you may expect to spend on average RMB880 to 1288 per person, both of which are exclusive of service charges. These averages include ten-course Chinese set lunch, hosted bar for the entire event by serving beverages as well as wines, a wedding ceremony at the Chapel and Garden, a champagne toast and an open, Staging/backdrop, wedding solutions, music selection with audiovisual equipment, photographer, videographer, makeup artist, etc. Please be aware that we provide one-stop wedding solutions to you for a select variety of wedding accessories. Your final pricing will be based on your actual selections.

 

What are the deposits based on and when are they due?

 

Deposits are 50% of total estimated expenses after the contract is signed. One month prior to your event, another 50% of the estimated charges are due. The estimated final balance is due at your event.

 

When do I need to tell The Ritz-Carlton exactly how many guests will be attending my wedding?

 

The catering department must be notified of the exact number of guests attending a function at least two weeks prior to the start of the event. This will be considered a guarantee, for which you will be charged, even if fewer guests attend the function.

 

Do the bride and groom get a complimentary room for the wedding night?

 

The hotel provides a complimentary guestroom for the bride and groom on the night of their wedding.

 

Are there special room rates for wedding guests?

 

For family and friends of the wedding party, The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing will be happy to quote preferential rates for the week of the event.

Our in-house florist will prepare a range of seasonal arrangements, centerpieces, bouquets, headdresses, corsages and button-holes.

 

How do I choose the food for my reception?

 

Whether your reception is an intimate lunch or a lavish gathering, we offer a range of cuisines. From hors d’oeuvres and champagne cocktails to optional stations and gourmet buffets or formal Chinese set lunches with plated selections and synchronized service, all options are catered. Your wedding professional will assist you with choosing from our extensive menu.
