Inspired by the beauty of Central Park, guests will experience the sun-kissed season

NEW YORK, N.Y. – June 29, 2018 – The floral blooms of summer make it one of the most enchanting seasons to visit and explore Central Park. At The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, guests have direct access to the famed, 843-acre New York City park, just steps from the front door of the hotel. This summer, special programming further brings the season to life through refreshing afternoon tea service, new seasonal cocktails, custom La Prairie Spa treatments, and the unforgettable ‘Picnic in the Park’ package.

Inspired by the vibrant flowers and colorful plants of Central Park during the warmer months, the Summer Afternoon Tea embraces the changing seasons of the famed park. This season features an Organic Pear Tree Green Tea, a crisp and sweet blend of Estate China green tea, without a hint of asperity, perfumed with the essence of freshly plucked ripe pears. Seasonal tea sandwiches include Smoked Trout with Sour Cream, Baby Heirloom Tomatoes, Radish with Alfalfa Sprouts, and Prosciutto with Pea Puree. Guests will also enjoy a variety of petit fours including a Yuzu Meringue Sucre, Summer Berries Tart and New York Style Cherry Cheese Cake.  Homemade Blueberry Scones with Fruit Preserves and Devonshire Cream complete the experience. Afternoon Tea is available in The Star Lounge, Friday through Sunday, from 2 – 4 p.m.

After a day of exploring the expansiveness of Central Park, summer nights bring the history and magic of the landmark park to life through a menu of seasonal cocktails. No. 1986 pays homage to the year the now iconic concert series SummerStage was established, bringing live music to Central Park. This cocktail is a refreshing blend of Jack Daniels, Farmers Gin, Ice Tea, Lemonade, and Mint. No. 1934 is a popular summer drink, featuring Woodford Reserve, Fresh Watermelon Juice, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Watermelon Cubes, and Caramelized Sugar, garnished with a lime. This cocktail is named for a popular park spot for a picnic, Sheep Meadow, which was once home to a flock of sheep until 1934. The watermelon used in the cocktail is reminiscent of the popular summer fruit picnic basket.  Cocktails are available in The Star Lounge and The Star Bar daily from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Guests who opt to rejuvenate rather than imbibe, La Prairie at The Ritz-Carlton Spa has curated treatments focused on healing the parts of the body that the heat and sun of the new season affect most. From June to August, unwind with a La Prairie Experience Massage, La Prairie Experience Facial, or La Prairie Experience Body Polish all lasting 45-minutes at $165.
