It may be the “concrete jungle,” but New York City offers plenty of places to go for a run. Here’s where you can hit the road, on foot.

Pick up a running map from the front desk, reserve a one-on-one session with a personal trainer, join a local running tour or choose your own adventure by running the park’s entire six-mile loop or one of the numerous routes.

This public park, built over a historic elevated freight-train line, stretches from 34th Street between 10th and 11th avenues down to the Meatpacking District’s Gansevoort Street. Head out early to avoid the crowds and enjoy the view.

Known for their popular yoga and workout gear, Lululemon hosts free weekly runs at their stores worldwide, including their Central Park location. Search the “Community” section online to sign up; they’ll even send you an email the day before with what to expect.
