You will be able to make your mark in history through your participation in the Canvas of Hope program. The Philadelphia Mural Arts Program allows you to get a better understanding of the challenges that face disadvantaged youth in an urban environment. It started in 1984 as an anti-graffiti initiative, incorporating the talents of young men and women to display their artistic skills and empowering them to beautify their neighborhoods. You will tour a sampling of some of the 57 neighborhood murals and will then participate for 2 - 3 hours in the preparation of a local mural site. You will receive a copy of the Philadelpia Mural Arts book as a keepsake for years to come to remind you of your contribution.
