A couple was visiting the Virgin Islands for the first time, and wanted to explore as much as they could during their week-long trip. The Club Lounge team worked to reserve them a private charter so they could see St. Thomas and surrounding islands at their own pace. Supervisor Eric recommended his very favorite island activity: snorkeling the Caves of Norman Island in the nearby British Virgin Islands, followed by lunch at a beachfront restaurant not far from the caves. While shopping in the gift shop, the guest found a white pearl necklace and black one for her daughter, but ending up only purchasing one of the two. While she was showing the necklace off to Club Attendant Shirley, she lamented not purchasing the second necklace for her daughter so that they could have matching necklaces from the islands. Shirley assured the guest that she would do her best to find the necklace for her and send it to her home in the States.
After weeks of coordinating with several boat captains, Shirley finally found a captain who would be stopping at the restaurant and could purchase the necklace in the gift shop, then deliver to the resort. Shirley sent the necklace to the guest, along with some mementos of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas and a handwritten note, thanking them for visiting and inviting them to return the following year.
