A special family arrived at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou one day. Through a conversation with them, Guest Relations and the Club Lounge Team learned that four among the elders were sisters and brothers. They are all overseas Chinese who have lived in different countries for decades. It had been several years since they last met, so this gathering was a hard-won family reunion. The reason why they chose to meet here is that they used to live in an old district of Guangzhou over 60 years ago. They miss the old times very much.

Guest Relations and the Club Lounge Team, touched by both their nostalgic story and their sibling affection, carefully put together an album of delicately made postcards with Guangzhou Memories themes – all about the old Guangzhou of their childhood but which is now gradually forgotten in today’s society. There were both descriptive images and introductory texts on the postcards. But as the characters were too tiny to read, the introductions on the cards were copied down by hand, and the English translation was also attached on the backs. They even prepared customized gifts for the guests’ grandchildren who came to China and were visiting Guangzhou for the first time.

Last but not least, they wrote a long fond farewell letter to the whole family and delicately wrapped gifts for them. Then they placed the gifts outside the door of the eldest guest to surprise the family.

The next morning, the guests were so happy and moved by the sincere service and genuine care. They truly had an enjoyable and memorable stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou.
