The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch Recreation Program provides this opportunity through an expansive menu of activities and classes, accessible to people of all ages and abilities. At its core, the program aims to promote and facilitate outdoor exploration, fitness, wellness, creativity and lifelong learning.

Naturalist Guided Hike

Autumn is the perfect time to experience the majestic views of Bachelor Gulch while learning facts about the plants and animals that thrive here. Learn what triggers the aspen trees to change from verdant green to golden yellow and how the animals are preparing for the harsh winter season. Along the way, pause to breathe in the fresh mountain air and to capture the beauty with stunning photographs.

Thursday to Sunday through the fall. 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Plan to meet your guide outside on the Mountainside Terrace. Included in the resort fee for hotel guests and no reservations are required. Please note this activity is weather permitting.

Private Guided Hike: Explore Beaver Creek Mountain on your own schedule and at your own pace as you hike with an expert naturalist guide who will enliven the experience with fascinating facts about the mountain plants and animals. This tour can be customized so that hikers of all ages and abilities can enjoy a wonderful walk through the woods.

Village-to-Village Tour: Explore gorgeous aspen groves and thick evergreen stands on this trail that traverses the mountain to Beaver Creek Village. Once in the Village, stay for lunch and shopping or ride the complimentary shuttle back to the hotel with your guide. This route is approximately 4 miles.              

Sunset Stroll: Set off on an excursion to watch the sunset; a great time for wildlife viewing. Then watch the night sky fill with stars as your guide brings celestial, plant and animal wonders to life.

*All private guided hikes are available at a cost of $160 for up to 4 guests and $20 for each additional guest. Pricing includes water, sunscreen, ponchos if needed and light trail snacks.
*Hikes are typically two hours in length but can be modified to fit your needs.
*Well-mannered pets are welcome at all nature programs. 
All guided hikes meet on the Mountainside Terrace unless an alternate location is arranged.


Mountain Spa Morning:
This package combines three wellness experiences into the perfect retreat. A guided hike connects you to the natural world; a private yoga class awakens the body and quiets the mind, and a massage will leave you in a state of blissful relaxation. This series can be booked with ample time for lunch and a leisurely soak in the spa to create a day long retreat.

$600 for up to 2 guests and $250 for each additional guest

Package includes a 90 minute guided hike, a 50 minute private yoga class, a 60 minute signature massage for each guest, a 20 minute session at the spa’s oxygen bar for each guest, a healthy fruit juice for each guest, and use of the spa’s hydrotherapy pools.

Perfectly Paired Picnic
: Venture through aspens and wildflowers on a naturalist guided hike to the scenic and secluded Anderson’s Cabin. Once there, indulge in a nutritious and satisfying lunch while enjoying breathtaking views of the Eagle River Valley.

$250 for up to 2 guests and $40 for each additional guest; 2+ hours

*Includes an appetizer, salad or sandwich, fresh fruit, dessert, sparkling water, and your choice of white wine, red wine, bubbly, or Colorado microbrews. Dietary preferences and ability levels can be accommodated to create a truly personalized alpine adventure.

Whiskey and Woodburning:

Using a wood burning tool, etch a personalized design into your choice of a wooden cutting board or a set of four Colorado aspen wood coasters. With letter and number sets, symbols, and a tool to free hand, there are endless possibilities to create a unique souvenir to display back at home.

Fridays from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. $40 per person includes a signature whiskey drink and all craft supplies. Available for guests 21+.

Painting and Pinot:

Let the majestic Rockies be your inspiration as you spend the evening sipping wine and painting a rendition of the gorgeous alpine scenery. No painting experience is needed as your teacher will guide you along using simple step-by-step instructions.

Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. $40 per person includes a glass of Pinot Grigio or Pinot Noir and all craft supplies. Available for guests 21+.

Private Art in Nature Classes:
Groups small and large will love spending time together relaxing and getting crafty with one of our unique art classes. Classes can be held in a variety of outdoor and indoor spaces to accommodate groups of different sizes and to create the perfect mountain ambiance for your event.

Private Painting and Woodburning Classes are available at a cost of $200 for up to 4 guests and $50 for each additional guest.

Painting can be enjoyed by guests of all ages and wood burning is available for guests ages 16+. Private classes include your choice of up to two alcoholic beverages for each adult and non-alcoholic beverages for those under drinking age as well as light snacks.

Après Ski Stretch
Relax and unwind after a day on the slopes in this calming stretch and meditation class. Using aromatherapy, sound therapy, and gentle stretches, this class will help loosen tight muscles and prepare your body and mind for your next adventure on the snow. Private classes are also available.

12 Days of Wonder

The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch sets the stage for a festive season with a cheerful ambience and a cherished tradition. Guided Snowshoe Hikes

Daily Guided Snowshoe Hike
Immerse yourself in this beautiful mountain landscape on a moderate snowshoe hike. This tour will invigorate your body, refresh your sense, sooth your soul and stimulate your mind while we explore and learn about our ecosystem.

$50 per guest includes snowshoe rental and tour. Reservations are required for this activity. Please reserve in the spa and meet outside the fitness center.

Signature Private Snowshoe Hikes
Embark on the ultimate adventure with this private tour adapted to your fitness level, schedule, and interests. Along the way, learn about our fascinating ecosystem or simply enjoy the tranquility of the alpine forest. Upon returning to the hotel, enjoy a rejuvenating 20 minute session at the Spa’s oxygen bar.

Family Snowshoe Adventure

The whole family will fall in love with snowshoeing on this playful, interactive introduction to the sport! After learning how to get around on top of the snow, travel through the forest on the scavenger hunt for animal tracks and signs. Don’t forget to snap some amazing vacation photos, and end the adventure by playing in the snow.

Stargazing Snowshoe Tour

On crisp clear evenings as well as snowy nights, there is a world of nocturnal beauty waiting to reveal itself to you. After 60 minutes of exploration on snowshoes, end the evening by relaxing in the Great Room with a warm signature cocktail.

Dates vary dependent on the phases of the moon and the clarity of the skies.

Perfectly Paired Snowshoe Picnic

Venture out on snowshoes to explore the forest on your way to historic Anderson’s Cabin. Once at the cabin, get cozy inside and enjoy a warm meal tailored to your tastes and food preferences. Finish the experience with a piping hot dessert.

Meet your guide at the fitness center on the fourth floor to get fitted for snowshoes. This experience lasts up to 2½ hours and is priced at $350 for up to 2 guests and $35 for each additional guest.

Village-To-Village Hike
Enjoy a tranquil 4 mile hike from Bachelor Gulch to Beaver Creek Village where you can enjoy the village offerings and take a shuttle ride back to the resort.

$300 for up to 4 guests and $50 for each additional guest.

Salt Scrubs and Sangria

Delight in customizing your own salt scrub with essential oils while sipping on sangria on our picturesque Mountainside Terrace. Once you have mastered the perfect scrub, your creative journey will continue with coloring a radiant mandala.

Guided Hikes

Join our naturalist on a hike through Bachelor Gulch while learning about native plants and animals. Hikes are typically 1.5-2 hours in length and are offered as a hotel activity to all guests or as a private experience. All hikes are weather permitting and meet on the Mountainside Terrace unless an alternate location is arranged. Prices may vary and reservations are required for all private guided hikes.

Daily Guided Hikes

Discover the magic of the mountains with one of our resident naturalists on the daily guided hike. This activity is included in the resort fee and reservations are not required.

Nature Photography Hike

Learn how to capture the perfect picture in the great outdoors. Your guide will take you to photogenic locations in nature where you can practice basic photography principles of design. A smart phone camera can be used, as well as professional cameras.

Survival Skills 101

What did it take for the early settlers to survive? Learn basic survival techniques from a trained Resident Naturalist guide, from fire starting, orienteering, and more. Your guide will provide you with essential skills that will give you confidence on your next outdoor excursion.

Early Bird Hike

Join us on an early morning hike and watch the mountain awaken. This hike is included in the resort fee and reservations are not required.

Signature Private Hike

Explore Beaver Creek Mountain on your own schedule and pace. This hike is tailored to your interests and abilities to create a one-of-a-kind experience.

Treasure Hunt Expedition

On this family-friendly adventure, team members work together to solve puzzles, decipher clues, on a scavenger hunt that leads to a hidden treasure chest. Along the way, hikers will learn navigation and outdoor skills before panning for gemstones.

Village-to-Village Tour

Explore aspen groves and evergreens in this 4 mile hike to Beaver Creek Village where you can enjoy the village offerings or ride the complimentary shuttle back to the resort.

Sunset Stroll

Watch the sunset and the night sky fill with stars as you learn about the emerging celestial wonders through the constellations’ myths and scientific revelations.

Perfectly Paired Picnic

Venture through aspen groves and wildflowers to the secluded Anderson’s Cabin and enjoy lunch with breathtaking views of Vail Valley.
