A Spa Oasis Set Amid Beaver Creek Mountain

At The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Bachelor Gulch, nature is a healer for both the body and spirit. Tucked within Beaver Creek Mountain, the resort spa offers a 21,000-sq.-ft. retreat inspired by its surroundings. Signature treatments incorporate locally sourced herbs, plants and minerals, including activated charcoal sourced in Colorado mines, and address aches and concerns faced by skiers who spend their days on the slopes. The spa oasis features 19 treatment rooms, relaxation lounges with steam rooms, saunas and plunge pools and a stone-lined coed grotto.

The Vail Valley offers extensive hiking for all ages and abilities. The White River National Forest is located in our backyard and offers an endless amount of trail systems. There are a number of nearby 14,000 foot peaks, known as "fourteeners," for expert hikers to explore.

Enjoy easy access to mountain, road and cruise biking during the summer and fall seasons. Purchase a lift ticket to access most of Beaver Creek Mountain's terrain with the convenience of a chairlift, cruise along the Riverwalk in Avon or the Gore Creek path in Vail, or embark on the traverse across the breathtaking Vail Pass.

Transportation

Many transportation options are available to our guests. We offer private and group transportation recommendations in and out of both Eagle and Denver airports. Once you are in the Vail Valley we can assist you with around-the-town transfers or day rentals. Please contact us for more information.

Steeped in Western tradition and culture, the Vail Valley welcomes all visitors seeking to experience small-town charm. Historic treasures, antiques, art, clothing and unique, hand-curated collections are yours to discover.

Adventure Ridge 

Located at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola in Vail, Adventure Ridge has thrilling activities for all ages with the best view in town! Ride the gondola up to enjoy activities like tubing, disc golf, zip lining and climbing, or just take in the wonderful scenery over lunch

Train Rides 

Colorado features unique historic train rides. Both the Georgetown Loop Railroad and The Leadville & Southern Colorado Train an hour away and offer scenic rides through the mountain while offering incredible photo opportunities. 

Whitewater Rafting 

The ‘can’t miss’ excursion in Colorado is definitely whitewater rafting. Ride the river while enjoying the High Country’s gorgeous scenery from an entirely new perspective. There are a number of tours available in the area for all ages and ability types. 

Bowling 

If you are looking for a state of the art bowling alley, look no further than Bol in Vail Village. Enjoy a swanky dining area and a private bowling lane for your friends and family. Lanes are available for reservations by the hour. 

Farmers Market 

Vail and Minturn both host Famers Markets on summer weekends, offering plenty of vendors with local arts & crafts, clothing, food, and other goods.

Tennis 

Tennis aficionados and novices can improve their technique on state-of-the-art clay courts located in the heart of Bachelor Gulch. Guests are able to arrange private lessons and reserve courts.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding 

Stand Up Paddle Boarding is rapidly becoming the most popular sport in the Vail Valley. Tours are available down the Colorado River for all abilities.

Zip lining  

For thrill seekers looking for an eagle eye view of the mountains, zip lining is the perfect excursion. Tours available daily for guests ages 6 and up. 

Horseback Riding 

Saddle up and enjoy one of the many horseback riding excursions available to you in the Vail Valley. There's no better way to experience the Vail Valley's wooded trails and high mountain desert terrain than on horseback. Riders must be 7 years of age or older; pony rides are available for younger children. 

Jeep Tours 

Four-wheel Jeep adventures provide another opportunity to explore the high Rockies. Enjoy incredible views with spectacular chances to see Colorado's native wildlife such as the Rocky Mountain Elk, Bighorn Sheep, Black Bear and more. 

ATV and Maverick Tours 

For those looking to drive their own vehicles on mountain trails, ATV and 4 X 4 Maverick Tours are available. Take the wheel and drive one of these machines through high alpine fields and wooded trails. Trips range from 1 hour to a full day. ATV's are also available for rent by the hour to take out and explore on your own.

Rock Climbing  

The Rocky Mountains of Colorado are home to some of the best rock climbing in the country. Private guided trips are available for all ability levels and range from 4 hours to overnight. If the backcountry sounds a little too daunting for you, there are many climbing walls in the area, including at Adventure Ridge in Vail.

Hot Air Ballooning 

Soar into the sky to experience a bird's eye view of the majestic Rockies. Hot air balloon tours are a unique way to see the Vail Valley with your friends and family. Tours leave very early in the morning and typically last 1 - 2 hours.

Dining 

The Vail Valley has a wide array of restaurants for all occasions. Enjoy fine dining, casual cuisine, and amazing après experiences. Vail, Minturn, Edwards, and Beaver Creek truly offer a diversity of dining outlets.

Concert and Performance Series

Complimentary Guided Snowshoe Hike

Enliven your senses and invigorate your body while snowshoeing through beautiful Aspen groves and alpine forests. Our resort naturalist will guide you to the majestic views of Bachelor Gulch while sharing facts about the local flora and fauna. The guided hike is included in the resort fee for hotel guests and reservations are not required. Kindly note that this hike is weather permitting and that waterproof and weather appropriate attire is required.

Private Guided Hike

Explore Beaver Creek Mountain on your own schedule and at your own pace as you hike with an expert naturalist guide who will enliven the experience with fascinating facts about the mountain plants and animals. This tour can be customized so that hikers of all ages and abilities can enjoy a wonderful walk through the woods.

Sunset Snowshoe Hike

There is no better setting than on the mountain to bid a fond farewell to the day. Invigorate your body while basking in the grandeur of golden hour.

Village-to-Village Tour

Explore aspen groves and evergreens in this 4 mile hike to Beaver Creek Village where you can enjoy the village offerings or ride the complimentary shuttle back to the resort.

Sunset Stroll

Watch the sunset and the night sky fill with stars as you learn about the emerging celestial wonders through the constellations’ myths and scientific revelations.

Guided Hikes

Join our naturalist on a hike through Bachelor Gulch while learning about native plants and animals. Hikes are typically 1.5-2 hours in length and are offered as a hotel activity to all guests or as a private experience. All hikes are weather permitting and meet on the Mountainside Terrace unless an alternate location is arranged. Prices may vary and reservations are required for all private guided hikes.

Daily Guided Hikes

Discover the magic of the mountains with one of our resident naturalists on the daily guided hike. This activity is included in the resort fee.

Signature Private Hike

Explore Beaver Creek Mountain on your own schedule and pace. This hike is tailored to your interests and abilities to create a one-of-a-kind experience.

Advanced reservations are strongly recommended as availability is limited.

Programs cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee; failure to provide advanced notice of a cancellation will result in full charge of the program.

Outdoor activities may be cancelled on short notice due to inclement or dangerous conditions. Cancellation is solely at the recreation department’s discretion.

Please note that a 24% service charge will be added to all recreation activities.

Plan Your Trip

Beaver Creek, Colorado is a year-round destination where guests can fill their day with activities or nothing at all. Packing depends on when you’re visiting and what’s on your agenda. Here are some tips on what to pack, what to reserve, and what to do.

Personal Training

Certified fitness trainers are available to work one-on-one to establish and reinforce a customized exercise program in either individual or series formats. 

Facilities

The Fitness Center at The Bachelor Gulch Spa boasts beautiful views of Beaver Creek Mountain and the Vail Valley. The cardiovascular room includes top-of-the-line Precor elliptical trainers, treadmills, step machines and stationary bicycles. All cardio machines are equipped with flat panel screens and iPod docks. Complimentary headphones are available.

Classes

Mat Pilates. Improve balance, core strength and stability while increasing flexibility.

Yoga. Breath-centered yoga that combines gentle, meditative movements, stretches and deep healing for restoration.

Group classes are included for guests in the Resort Fee. Class offerings are subject to change, please contact Spa Concierge for information at (970) 343-1138.

When should I arrive?

For your enhanced comfort and relaxation, we suggest that you arrive 15-30 minutes before your scheduled treatment. 

What about my jewelry and valuables?

Lockers are available for personal items, however if you are a guest of the hotel, it is recommended that you leave valuable items in the safe in your guest room.

Should I shave before a treatment?

Shaving is recommended but not necessary for gentleman prior to your facial. If you choose to shave prior to your facial, please do so at least two hours before your appointment. Shaving is not recommended prior to body treatments or hair removal services.

What should I wear during my treatment?

During all treatments, the body is fully draped, except for the area being worked on. Robes and slippers are provided. All treatments can be enjoyed by both male & female guests, but the gender of your therapist will always be that of the guest.

What about my comfort?

Our spa environment is one of relaxation and tranquility, for this reason we request that all cell-phones and pagers in the spa be switched off. Your spa experience is your time, and you should delight in it to the fullest. If you experience discomfort due to room temperature, massage pressure, music volume or any other condition, please notify your therapist immediately.

What if I have special health considerations?

When making a reservation please notify the agent of any medical conditions, allergies, physical aliments or disabilities, and if you are pregnant. 

What if I am pregnant?

Select services may be enjoyed during pregnancy and only on women that are 13-36 weeks pregnant.

Access to Facilities

Use of facilities is exclusively for guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, Bachelor Gulch Club members and individuals who are enjoying a treatment on the day of their treatment. All individuals must be 18 years of age or older.

Minimum Age

The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch Spa services and facilities are for guests 18 years of age or older.

Late Policy

To enhance your spa experience, please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled treatment. This will allow you time to relax in the sauna and steam rooms. Arriving late will simply limit the time of your treatment, thus lessening its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your treatment will end on time so that the next guest will not be delayed. The full value of your treatment will be charged.

Cancellation Policy

If you must reschedule or cancel your appointment, please notify the spa 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged a service fee.

Gratuities

For your convenience a suggested 20% service charge, based on the full price of each treatment will be added to your bill.

With ski-in/ski-out privileges, an in house outfitter and ticket office, a dedicated ski concierge and access to an exceptional ski and snowboard school, our property hosts your favorite winter sports and provides you with the utmost convenience.

Ski Concierge Services

Upon arrival to The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, the Ski Concierge will complete a detailed luggage and equipment identification process and store equipment at the guest’s convenience. When you are ready to hit the slopes, the Ski Concierge will have your ski equipment ready and warm for that special on-mountain adventure. Guest equipment will be set up daily at the time the guest requests; otherwise, all ski equipment will be ready by 7:30 a.m. After a memorable day on the slopes, the ski equipment will be cleaned and stored in the well-designed and organized Ski storage area. Upon departure, with a simple touch of a button, our Colorado ski resort guest will be immediately connected to The Bell team member who will assist.

Skiing and Snowboarding

With more than 2,000 acres of diverse terrain, Colorado’s Beaver Creek is perfect for making fresh tracks, riding moguls or cruising down groomed runs.

As a ski-in, ski-out resort, The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch offers premier access to the newly debuted McCoy Park terrain. The expansion includes 17 trails and 250 acres of ski terrain for beginner and intermediate skiers as well as a family-friendly learning area.

Vail, just 15 minutes from our resort, offers nearly more than 5,300 acres of skiable terrain, including seven legendary Back Bowls spanning seven miles and three terrain parks to cater to skiers of all levels.

Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School

For first-time skiers or those seeking a refresher, the Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School offers ski lessons for both adults and kids. Private lessons are also available.

A Kid’s Dream Destination

Beaver Creek is a kid’s dream destination: an in-room camping experience with special treats, swim lessons to beat the summer heat, a school designed for young skiers, hikes amid the fresh mountain air and activities to learn more about the area and its history. Through the hotel’s Ritz Kids program, guests ages 5 to 12 will leave with new friends and fond memories.
