BAR Studio set out to create a distinctly Melbournian experience, combining two perspectives: the city’s terrestrial laneway culture and a celestial view from above, marked by references to outer landmarks. Melbourne’s identity is woven through every guest touchpoint, from traditional stringybark ceremonial poles at arrival to The Ritz-Carlton Grand Ballroom, inspired by the National Gallery of Victoria.
Our culinary approach is grounded in seasonality, provenance and a profound respect for the people who cultivate, harvest and produce the ingredients within our menus. At our restaurant, Atria, we use mostly local Victorian produce to showcase ingredients at their freshest, whilst pickling and preserving abundant produce to be enjoyed for future seasons.
We are proud that all seafood, free-range pork, free-range eggs, and coffee used at The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne is sourced from sustainable growers, graziers and producers.
The ocean is not an endless resource and we are committed to educating our Ladies & Gentlemen about lesser-known local species and working with responsible suppliers to preserve local ecosystems and minimise overfishing.
