Lady of the Camellias at Boston Opera House
February 26 - March 8, 2015
Ignite your desire for true love with Val Caniparoli's Lady of the Camellias. Based on Alexander Dumas' 19th-century French novel and set to the music of Chopin Lady of the Camellias follows the tragic affair of Marguerite, one of Paris' most sought-after courtesans, and Armand, a young gentleman from the country.

Dumas' novel, which he later reworked for the theatre, has inspired countless of stage and screen adaptations, including the opera La Traviata, Greta Garbo's magnificent Oscar nominated interpretation of Marguerite in Camille, and the 2001 movie Moulin Rouge.

Boston Ballet's staging of Caniparoli's Lady of the Camellias celebrates the 20th anniversary of the work.

A world premiere by Resident Choreographer, Jorma Elo; Helen Pickett's Eventide with music by Philip Glass and Ravi Shankar; and Lila York's rousing Celts which sets classical ballet, jigs, and speedy footwork to a mix of favorite Irish music.

Duckling Day Parade - Boston Public Garden

The Duckling Day Parade commemorates Robert McCluskey's classic children's book, Make Way for Ducklings, set here in Boston and made even more special by our Make Way for Ducklings statues in the Public Garden. The parade begins in Boston Common and traces the path taken by Mr. and Mrs. Mallard and their flock of 8 recent hatch ducklings as they search for the perfect place to bring them up, which turns out to be Mallard Island in the Lagoon in the Public Garden

The 33rd annual Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl presented by Walgreens is the nation's largest all-you-can-eat ice cream festival. This year’s event will take place June 2 – 4, 2015 at Boston's City Hall Plaza. A Boston tradition, the Scooper Bowl serves up ice cream and frozen yogurt from 10 of the nation's leading ice cream companies. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 3-9, and kids under 3 are free. Purchase a Scooper Pass and attend the event up to three times.
