In October 2010, The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai has commenced an exciting expansion project that will add new rooms, suites, pools, restaurant concepts, and 1,160 square meters of meeting space including a grand ballroom over a projected 24-month period. The expansion itself will consist of an adjacent wing which will house additional rooms over 6 floors and will be connected to our existing 138-room resort, making it a total of 301 guest rooms and suites. The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai continues to welcome guests throughout the entire expansion development, and the only areas that are closed are La Baie restaurant, the Spa Pool, and part of our landscaped gardens. Because the new wing is located at the very far end of the resort, away from the existing guestrooms, Spa, Club Lounge and swimming pool with a partition separating the expansion project from the rest of the hotel grounds, we strongly believe there will be minimal disturbance to our guests’ holiday experience. Timeline & latest developments: As of February 2012 There are no more major foundation works taking place as the building structure including the roof has been completed. The façade is almost entirely painted and only one crane is left until the end of the month. Internal work has commenced including fitting of the air-conditioning system, electrical cabling, ceiling painting, setting up guestroom and bathroom fixtures and marble works. The two pools including an adult pool and spa pool are being built as well.
