VolunTeaming is now offered under The Ritz-Carlton social responsibility program, Community Footprints
. Transcending traditional group activities, VolunTeaming combines teambuilding with volunteer activities that create lasting memories for the participants. Recognizing that many groups want their teambuilding time to make a meaningful contribution, these programs enable guests to be a force for good and feel personally connected to the place that they visit.
The hotel’s exclusive Volunteaming program, the Everglades Restoration Project
, provides guests with an opportunity to explore the Florida Everglades while helping to restore the unique ecosystem and protect endangered animals. Guests embark on an environmental journey with a 30-minute airboat tour ride led by a skilled captain, who will describe the rich history behind the Everglades. This is a hands-on environmental education experience, where groups will observe a sanctuary for endangered animals including the Florida Panther, Burmese Python and Gopher Turtles, and then assist in rejuvenating the ecosystem by helping to plant seedlings and trees. This important effort will help create shade and a canopy for the rescued and endangered animals who now call the park home, providing a refuge from the strong Florida sun.
