Whale Watching (December – April)
Humpback whales tend to gravitate towards warm, temperate waters in the tropics and subtropics during the winter breeding season. These whales can be found in the open ocean and closer to shore throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Although humpback whales can be seen from all of the Hawaiian Islands, the shallow Auau Channel between Maui, Molokai and Lanai is one of the best whale-watching destinations in the world.

Haleakala National Park
Haleakala National Park is home to the dormant Haleakala Volcano and endangered Hawaiian geese. The Leleiwi and Kalahaku overlooks on the steep Crater Road have views across the West Maui Mountains. Rugged trails in the Summit District pass cinder cones and lava flows. In the coastal area of Kīpahulu are the Pools of Oheo, freshwater pools and waterfalls set amid bamboo forest. Reservations are required for sunrise.

Hana
