  • Can You Assist With Flowers and Centerpieces?

  • We have exclusive relationships with Chicago’s finest floral and event designers. Recommended designers specialize in creative, contemporary, and traditional arrangements and can tailor the blooms, designs, and accessories to meet your needs and preferences.

  • Are Table Linens Included?

  • We provide ivory floor-length damask linens and white linen napkins on all dining tables. Your Catering Manager can also assist you with renting custom linens. Modern glass and steel action stations are also available at no additional cost.

  • Do You Have Any Recommendations for Entertainment?

  • We have an exclusive list of the finest musicians in Chicago and are delighted to work with them in planning your wedding. The vendors are very familiar with the hotel and are thoroughly reliable and creative.

  • Is Parking Available?

  • Parking is available either through our valet-covered (weather-protected) Pearson Street concourse entrance or by self-parking in Water Tower Place at the Chestnut Street entrance. Your Catering Manager can make arrangements should you wish to host your guests’ parking fees.

  • How Can I Arrange Overnight Accommodations for My Guests?

  • We are pleased to offer special room rates for your out-of-town guests. Couples who host a wedding of more than 180 guests in The Grand Ballroom will enjoy a complimentary One-Bedroom Lake-side Suite on the evening of their wedding as well as complimentary deluxe accommodations for both sets of parents of the couple.

  • Do We Need to Hire a Wedding Consultant?

  • Couples are not required to have a wedding consultant. However, we will be pleased to recommend a wedding consultant to coordinate your special day.

  • What Will Be the Responsibility of the Catering Manager?

  • Recommends vendors such as wedding planners, music, floral, photography, invitations, and décor

  • Acts as a menu consultant for all food and beverage selections

  • Prepares your event detail orders for your approval and details to be communicated successfully to the operational team of the Hotel

  • Creates a floor plan of your function space in order for you to plan and provide the Hotel with your seating arrangements

  • Assists you with any overnight room requirements

  • Reviews all invoices post-event for accuracy prior to the completion of your final bill

  • Do You Recommend Any Vendors Such As Photographers, Florists, Entertainments, and Others?

  • No, the hotel’s public spaces are extended as a privilege to only the couples who are hosting their reception at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago; however, upon availability, function rooms may be rented for this purpose.

  • Do You Have a Spa and What Does It Offer?

Culinary Wedding Questions

  • Can We Bring Our Own Wedding Cake?

  • Yes. Wedding cakes can be custom-made by our award-winning wedding cake specialist. If the cake is not purchased from the hotel and is instead brought in from the outside, we charge a cake-cutting fee.

  • Do You Allow Outside Catering?

  • No. The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago culinary team provides all food and beverage at the hotel. However, for kosher and Indian catering, the hotel has agreements with vendors who consult and supervise food preparation to ensure authenticity and adhere to the laws of the Chicago Rabbinical Council.

  • What Is the Average Cost per Person for Food and Beverage?

  • Based on our current banquet menus, on average you may expect to spend approximately $210 – $315 per person, exclusive of service charge and sales tax. These averages would encompass hors d’oeuvres during your welcome reception, a plated dinner inclusive of wedding cake, wine service with the meal, and an open hosted bar for four hours. In addition, we also offer a Friday and Sunday package that begins at $150 per person, exclusive of service charge and sales tax.

  • When Do We Need to Finalize Our Menu?

  • Food and beverage selections should be finalized and confirmed with your Catering Manager 30 days prior to the date of your wedding.

  • When Do We Need to Let the Hotel Know Exactly How Many Guests Will Be Attending?

  • The Hotel requires that the final guarantee of attendants be communicated to the catering office no later than 12 p.m., three business days prior to the date of your scheduled event

Conference and Hollow Square
Appropriate for interactive discussions and note-taking sessions for fewer than 25 people. Many hotels have elegant "boardrooms" for 10 to 20 people, equipped with full audiovisual capabilities, a writing board, cork board and a flip chart.
E-Shape, U-Shape and T-Shape
Appropriate for groups of fewer than 40 people. These are best for interaction with a leader seated at the head of the setup. Audiovisual is usually best set up at the open end of the seating.
Theater
Appropriate for large sessions and short lectures that do not require extensive note-taking. This is a convenient setup to use before breaking into discussion or role-playing groups because chairs can be moved.
Reception
Stand-up social function where beverages and light foods are served. Foods may be presented on small buffet tables or passed by servers. May precede a meal function.
Schoolroom or Classroom
The most desirable setup for medium to large-size lectures. Requires a relatively large room. Tables provide attendees with space for spreading out materials and taking notes.
