Experience the Culinary Artistry of Salt:

A Cayman Reunion Wine Dinner

Salt Chef Okan Kizibayir will host an extraordinary wine dinner collaboration with former colleague Chef Thomas Seifried of Blue Restaurant by Eric Ripert at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. Okan served as Seifried’s Sous Chef for six years before joining Ripert’s 3-Michelin Star restaurant, Le Bernardin in New York City. Okan joined AAA Five Diamond Salt at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island in February, 2021. Together, Chefs Okan and Thomas hosted Ripert’s esteemed annual Cayman Cookout a four day gathering of celebrity chefs offering unique epicurean experiences. On January 24 2022, Chefs Okan and Thomas will reunite at Salt to present a collaborative five-course dinner with wines matched by their former colleague at Blue, sommelier Michael Kennedy. During their three years together, they perfected the pairing process. After Blue, Kennedy founded four wineries located in Napa Valley, Oregon, Bordeaux and Tuscany.

Salt Cooking Schools

Ignite your passion for cooking while attending a Cooking School led by Salt Chef Okan Kizilbayir. Chef Okan unlocks the secrets of Atlantic-influenced Contemporary American cuisine through total immersion in the culinary process.
Classes begin with breakfast in the Salt dining room overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. After a tour of the Salt kitchen, students disperse to work stations to create a four-course lunch menu reflecting the class theme. Later that day, students share a lunch paired with a selection of fine wines and discuss their experiences with fellow students and chefs. At the end of the program, students receive a Salt apron, recipe book and certificate.

For those lured by culinary and outdoor adventures, there is Hook, Line & Supper - An island fishing trip led by a seasoned charter boat captain and Ritz-Carlton Executive Chef Garrett Gooch or Salt Chef de Cuisine Okan Kizilbayir. As passionate about fresh flavors as they are about local ingredients, Chefs Garret and Okan are avid fisherman who know the island’s waterways like the back of a menu.

Guests set out early in the morning with a chef-prepared lunch and beverages for a morning that combines angling, fish stories and a taste of authentic island life. Back on shore, you can join the Chef in planning the menu using your catch or you can take time to relax. That evening, you’ll savor a customized four-course dinner with paired wines for two at Chef’s Kitchen Table in Salt. Experience for yourself this thrilling day that takes you from dock to exquisite dish and beyond.

CHEF’S CABANA DINNER

Accented by cool Atlantic Ocean breezes under a romantic evening sky, savor a personalized four-course tasting menu prepared by Ritz-Carlton chefs. The casually elegant dinner includes paired wines. 7:30 p.m. seating only, advance reservations required.
